There are two ways to know the battery status of your Jamstik
1. Check your status within the Jamstik app or Web Play Portal
When connected to the Jamstik Control App, Learning Portal for Jamstik app, or Web Learning Portal for Jamstik, there's a battery icon next to the device's name. When the battery status becomes low, the icon will change from blue to black.
2. Check the LED indicator light
Jamstik 7: The LED is located under the center hood of your Jamstik.
Pulsing Red and Green means that your batteries are low. Replace with standard or rechargeable AA batteries.
Replacing the Jamstik 7 batteries
DON’T—Mix old and new batteries, batteries of different brands, or batteries of different types in the same device as this may cause the batteries to leak.
DON’T—Attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. This can cause your batteries to overcharge or leak.
Recycling: Alkaline batteries can be safely disposed of in normal household waste, everywhere but California. We however strongly recommend for these to be disposed at a recycling station. Go to: https://www.call2recycle.org/ to find a recycling location near you.
Jamstik+: The LED is located above the power button on your Jamstik
Flashing Red and Green means that your battery is low and about to die! Use a micro USB to USB cable to charge either in a USB port or wall charger.
Charging the Jamstik+
- Connect the micro USB end to your Jamstik+, then Plug the USB end into a computer
- Connect the micro USB end to your Jamstik+, then Plug the USB end into a USB power block which is plugged into the wall - such as the one included with your iPhone or iPad (Recommended)
It should be clarified; that while the Jamstik+ will charge from your laptop or USB hub, it will charge faster with a dedicated wall outlet, while powered OFF.
