If you find it difficult to trigger a note on your lowest 3 strings, or your strings just feel too stiff, you should loosen your strings to better allow your Jamstik's pickup to register notes, fret, bend and just make your Jamstik easier to play overall!
1) Locate & remove the hex wrench provided behind the battery
2) Using the hex wrench, loosen the screws that hold the strings in place at the head of the Jamstik
Recommended tension adjustment of the lowest 3 strings:
(Loosen counter clockwise)
[aprox. 1 & 1/2 rotations for the D string]
[aprox. 3 & 1/2 rotations for the A string]
[aprox. 5 & 1/2 rotations for the low E string]
Before: (Too Tight - Notice gold nuts are within black saddles)
After: (Ideal tension, nuts are just outside saddles)
You'll know that you've reached an ideal tension when the strings feel slightly tighter than a regular electric guitar. Make sure to play around a bit in our apps to ensure performance feels right, and as always, if you need any help from us, submit a ticket and we're happy to help!
